Absorber FAQ
Common absorber fitment questions
Can I replace only one front absorber?
It is usually better to replace left and right absorbers as a pair so both sides have similar damping and handling.
Why is it recommended to replace both sides together?
A new absorber on one side and an old absorber on the other side can make the car feel unbalanced during braking, cornering or uneven road driving.
Is a rear absorber sold as 1PC or 2PCS?
It depends on the listing. Always check the quantity label. If unsure, WhatsApp Best Carman before purchase.
How do I confirm front or rear absorber?
Check the product title, position field and old absorber location. You can also send a vehicle photo or old absorber photo for checking.
How do I confirm left or right side?
Some front absorbers are side-specific. Confirm by OE number, old absorber marking, mounting direction or chassis code.
How can I search by OE number?
Enter the OE number into Best Carman search. You can type it with or without spaces or hyphens.
Where can I find the chassis code?
The chassis code is usually shown on the vehicle grant, registration card, VIN plate or workshop record.
Does a leaking absorber always need replacement?
Visible oil leakage usually means the absorber is weak or damaged. A workshop inspection is recommended.
What can cause absorber noise?
Noise may come from absorber mounting, dust cover, bump stop, stabilizer link, lower arm bush, ball joint or loose installation.
Should absorber mounting be replaced together?
If the mounting is cracked, noisy, loose or old, replacing it together can reduce repeat labour and future noise.
Is alignment needed after replacing absorbers?
Alignment is recommended, especially after replacing front suspension parts or if the car pulls to one side.
What is the difference between gas and oil absorber?
Gas absorbers usually feel firmer and more stable. Oil absorbers may feel softer, depending on product design and vehicle setup.
How is absorber warranty counted?
Warranty depends on product brand, supplier terms, installation condition and proof of purchase.
Can I return the product if I bought the wrong fitment?
Return depends on product condition, packaging, installation status and fitment confirmation record.
Why must some absorber products be confirmed by WhatsApp first?
Absorber fitment can change by chassis, year, engine, front/rear position and left/right side, so confirmation helps avoid wrong purchases.
